Jaakko, I really enjoyed your article! I think you make really good, valid points. I particularly enjoyed how you advocate for the move from design heroes to design team and for more diversity. One thing I'd add, or perhaps it's another variable of how design needs to change... is that design and design disciplines often respond to new tech (=new ways of interacting between humans and tech). So everything there is a new tech that needs to be adopted, a new species of designer appears to make that connection. So for me the very core issues is that design and technology development needs to work hand in hand, in order for design to really change / evolve. We tend to thing too much about the designer as someone who comes in to pain a layer of "aesthetic" or a layer of "usability" on top of something's that's already been defined.
